Stefan de Vrij and Nicolo Barella both received rewards on Friday for their spectacular performances at Inter last season.
The Nerazzurri players were named in the Italian Footballers’ Association’s (AIC) Serie A Team of the Year for the 2019-20 campaign.
Barella told Sky Sport at the Gran Gala del Calcio AIC that he owed the prize to his teammates for helping him improve.
De Vrij, who tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday and was presumably not in attendance (although it is not clear), said Inter made ‘an important’ step as a team last season.
Inter announced the news on Twitter, along with a picture of both players holding their awards.
