Antonio Conte’s future at Inter remains in doubt, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Both Conte and the Nerazzurri are entirely focused on delivering the Serie A title at present, with Inter holding a six-point lead (and a game in hand) over AC Milan with 11 games left.
But Tuttosport’s print edition has explained that Inter’s well-documented corporate problems will play a huge role in determining the future of their head coach.
Should Inter find themselves unable to spend on players in the summer transfer window, just like they did in January, there is a risk Conte would leave instead of tackling next season’s UEFA Champions League without reinforcements.
If Conte did choose to part company with Inter, the Turin-based paper continued, his next job could be in the Premier League with either Manchester United or Tottenham.
Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all have more ‘stable’ situations and are unlikely to be opportunities for any coaches out of work in the summer.
