Inter are in seventh heaven as they stride towards their first Serie A title since 2010, according to the Nerazzurri’s former head coach Alberto Zaccheroni.
Antonio Conte’s side are six points clear of AC Milan at the top of the table with 11 matches to spare, although Inter have a game in hand after Saturday’s fixture against Sassuolo was postponed.
Inter have won eight games in a row in the league and Zaccheroni believes spirits are sky high within the dressing room at present.
Speaking to ADNKronos on Monday, as quoted by FcInterNews.it, Zaccheroni said: “Inter are playing with euphoria now.
“I’ve always said the only team who could threaten them were AC Milan, who have an important sense of calm at the club.”
Inter’s next Serie A fixture will be at Bologna on April 3, when Conte will hope to have the likes of Samir Handanovic and Stefan de Vrij available again after they contracted COVID-19.
Danilo D’Ambrosio and Samir Handanovic also tested positive for the virus last week and are isolating at home.
In addition to his brief stint at Inter in the 2003-04 season, Zaccheroni also coached AC Milan and Juventus during his long career.
