Arturo Vidal will most likely be heading to France if he leaves Inter in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition said the Inter midfielder was not certain to remain with the Nerazzurri after a disappointing first campaign, following his transfer from Barcelona.
Marseille remain the most likely and ‘suggestive’ option for Vidal, albeit the Ligue 1 side have yet to make official contact with Inter over a deal.
Galatasaray have also begun pursuing the 33-year-old lately after making contact with his agent Fernando Felicevich.
Vidal was subject to interest from Brazilian giants Flamengo in January, as well as unnamed clubs from the United Arab Emirates.
The Chilean did not accept either destination however, with the Milan-based publication hinting that none of those clubs could get anywhere near affording his wages.
Inter would not find it difficult to make a capital gain on Vidal given that they signed him for almost nothing from Barcelona last summer.
However, one obstacle to a departure could be the fact that Vidal’s salary is due to rise from €5 million in his first year at Inter to €6.5 million in the second campaign.
Inter would also lose the benefits of Italy’s growth decree law should the midfielder leave Serie A after just one season, forcing the Nerazzurri to pay further money on his salary.
