Udinese Director Pierpaolo Marino: “Inter Linked Rodrigo De Paul Is World Class But Focused On Us”

Inter would be signing a world-class midfielder if they brought in Rodrigo de Paul this summer, according to Udinese’s technical director Pierpaolo Marino.

The Argentine play-maker is subject to constant transfer speculation at the moment, with Gianluca Di Marzio suggesting on Sunday he could be set to leave the Bianconeri this summer.

Marino sang the praises of the 26-year-old but insisted De Paul was focused on playing at his best for Luca Gotti’s side.

“We’re talking about a world-class player, a true ‘tuttocampista’,” Marino told Radio Crc on Tuesday, as quoted by FcInterNews.it.

“His results are the outcome of an incredible class combined with lots of hard work and sacrifice.

“De Paul is a tireless worker and I would put him among the best captains I’ve ever had in my teams for the seriousness he always demonstrates.

“I’m not going to talk about his future because De Paul is concentrated on helping Udinese with their objectives.”

De Paul has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Udinese this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.

He played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as Gotti’s side lost 1-0 at home to Lazio in matchday 27 of Serie A.

Antonio Conte is thought to be keen on a move for De Paul this summer, as per recent reports, although Marino recently made it clear in another interview that Udinese they won’t be selling the Argentine on the cheap.
