Inter will have two top strikers ready and raring to go when they return to action at Bologna next Saturday, a leading Italian broadcaster reported today.
Sky Sport Italia pointed out that Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez had the chance to put fuel in their legs during the international break, after South America’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers this week were postponed due to COVID-19.
Sanchez in particular has paid for his commitments with the Chilean national team in the past, picking up a long-term injury when he went back to play for his country in October 2019.
Both will be ready on this occasion for Inter’s Serie A title run-in, with the opportunity now to refine their physical condition with Antonio Conte at Appiano Gentile.
Sanchez has scored five goals and provided seven assists for the Nerazzurri this season, considering all competitions.
Lautaro has found the net 16 times and contributed nine assists, most recently heading in Inter’s winner in their last match at Torino two weeks ago.
Inter are six points clear of AC Milan at the top of the Serie A standings, with 11 games left (but only 10 for the Rossoneri).
