Inter’s rumoured transfer target Emerson Palmieri refused to be drawn today on speculation concerning his future.
A report in Italy this morning said the Chelsea wing-back was one of two players the Nerazzurri were monitoring ahead of this summer.
Emerson has struggled for game time under both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel this season, but the 26-year-old was keeping his cards close to his chest when speaking at Italy’s training base earlier.
“It’s still early to discuss my future,” Emerson told reporters, as reported by Ansa (via FcInterNews.it).
“I have two years on my contract at Chelsea, for now I’m thinking about the national team and not anything else.
“We’ll see in June.”
Emerson has made just 13 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season, having fallen out of favour under both head coaches during the 2020-21 campaign.
The Italian-Brazilian remained upbeat however as he discussed the Blues’ objectives for the rest of the season, with Tuchel’s side still in contention for two trophies.
“Chelsea can go all the way in the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup,” Emerson argued.
“We could surprise people and win something.”
Emerson has experience playing in Serie A with Roma and Palermo, and is also being linked in places with a move to Juventus.
