Alexis Sanchez More Likely To Stay At Inter After Improved Form, Italian Media Claim

Alexis Sanchez is increasingly likely to remain at Inter for next season after his recent upturn in form, a report in the Italian media suggested today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, Sanchez has two years left on his contract with the Nerazzurri which will see him earn €7 million annually after tax.

Inter signed Sanchez on loan from Manchester United in 2019, before making the move permanent on a three-year deal last summer.

Despite the heavy financial cost of such a deal, the Nerazzurri ‘could even be pleased’ to keep paying Sanchez that much given his excellent recent performances under Antonio Conte.

Sanchez has finally established himself as a strong back-up option behind Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez up front, having scored three goals and provided one assist in Inter’s last four games.

The Rome-based paper said the Chilean forward had finally reached the form and fitness expected of him by Conte, having struggled with injury problems during his first 18 months at the club.

Sanchez knows how to have a decisive impact on games when he comes off the bench and has experience of winning trophies at Barcelona and Manchester United.

CdS suggested only a certain type of player could cope with wearing important shirts like those, as well as playing for Arsenal and River Plate.

The 32-year-old’s experience and winning mentality could be priceless for Conte as Inter chase down the Serie A title in their final 11 games of the season.

Conte has made it clear in recent weeks that he is satisfied with how Sanchez is contributing now.
