Valentino Lazaro’s future remains a mystery with Borussia Monchengladbach looking unlikely to sign him from Inter, according to a report in Germany today.
Lazaro joined the Bundesliga side on loan with an option to buy last summer and remains contracted to Inter through to the summer of 2023.
Sky Deutschland (via FcInterNews.it) said there were no talks ongoing between the two clubs over a permanent deal, with Borussia Monchengladbach not showing any signs that they intend to keep Lazaro for next season.
Everything is at a standstill for now, which could point towards the Austrian returning to his parent club in the summer.
Lazaro has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Monchengladbach this season, including one against Inter in the UEFA Champions League.
The 25-year-old could potentially return to the Nerazzurri and stay with Antonio Conte’s first team next year, as per a report in Italy yesterday, although no decision will be made until the summer.
