Arturo Vidal could be ready to make his return to action for Inter within a week, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the midfielder should be included in the Nerazzurri’s squad for next Wednesday’s rearranged fixture at home to Sassuolo.

Vidal underwent knee surgery on March 12 and is making a speedy recovery after working hard throughout the international break.

Antonio Conte could be reliant upon the 33-year-old next month, with Inter due to play six Serie A matches during 23 days in April.

Vidal has not featured for Inter since he started the 1-0 win over Atalanta on March 8, a game which saw him removed at half-time after a poor display.

Conte was eager to bring in the former Juventus and Bayern Munich midfielder last summer but Vidal has so far failed to meet expectations upon his return to Serie A.

Vidal has scored twice and provided two assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Inter.
