Inter are expected to start without Stefan de Vrij and Christian Eriksen for tomorrow’s Serie A match at Bologna, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said Andrea Ranocchia would replace De Vrij as he gets back up to speed after contracting COVID-19.

Roberto Gagliardini is favourite to replace Eriksen, meanwhile, after the Dane returned from international duty with Denmark only yesterday (although another report today said Eriksen was expected to start).

Antonio Conte is unlikely to spring any further surprises in his starting XI for the fixture at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Alessandro Bastoni’s condition briefly caused concern among supporters on Wednesday, after the Inter defender was forced off during Italy’s FIFA World Cup qualifier in Lithuania with a blow to the shoulder.

However, the 21-year-old is said to have no problem whatsoever and will be starting as normal against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side.

Inter have not played a Serie A game since beating Torino three weeks ago and will be eager to restart their charge towards the title tomorrow.
