Antonio Conte has an extra weapon for Inter’s Serie A title push after Stefano Sensi rebooted his season on international duty, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said the midfielder would be ‘almost like a new signing’ for Conte and could be decisive in the final 11 games of the season.
Sensi had a smile on his face as he returned from his commitments with Italy, having started their FIFA World Cup qualifier in Bulgaria before scoring in the 2-0 win in Lithuania.
The 25-year-old will be ‘galvanised’ by his performances for the Azzurri and will now hope to kick-start his Inter career after another desperately disappointing season.
Conte has not started Sensi in any match since Inter visited Benevento in Serie A way back in September.
Sensi was encouraged by a report in Italy last night to take inspiration from Christian Eriksen, after the Dane rescued his career at Inter after struggling for game time in the first half of the season.
