After securing a ninth consecutive Serie A win with a 1-0 victory over Bologna last night, Inter have been praised for striking the right balance in their play by ex-Lazio goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani.

The Nerazzurri extended their impressive form thanks to a first half Romelu Lukaku goal at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, as they opened up an eight point lead over second-placed AC Milan in the table and edged closer to a first Scudetto since 2010.

Appearing on the Sky Calcio Club programme on Italian television station Sky Sport Italia after the match, Marchegiani suggested that coach Antonio Conte had found the right balance between attack and defence, whilst being aided by a strong mentality across the squad.

“The feeling is that they are defending well and aware of their strength, with a sense that sooner or later they will score,” Marchegiani claimed.

“At this moment in time Inter have found an enviable balance. The appearance of the team in my opinion is enviable for the players that Conte has at his disposal.”

Inter look to extend their lead at the top further when they welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday in a rearranged fixture, having seen it initially postponed last month due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
