Inter could soon have an answer from Aissa Mandi in their bid to sign the defender from Real Betis, according to a report in the Spanish media today.
Seville-based newspaper Estadio Deportivo (via Calciomercato.com) said the Algerian had asked Real Betis for a few days to consider his options ahead of next season.
Real Betis have offered Mandi a new deal (he is out of contract in the summer), but the 29-year-old has various options if he decides to leave.
Inter and Lyon are the most keenly interested clubs, with the Nerazzurri widely thought to be seeking defenders in the summer transfer window.
Should Mandi opt to decline Inter and Lyon’s advances, he would also have interest from Liverpool, Valencia and a few teams in Germany, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
The centre-back is expected to inform Real Betis of his decision in the next few days.
Mandi has scored three goals and provided two assists for Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season, having made 27 appearances in all competitions.
He played the full 90 minutes yesterday as Real Betis drew 1-1 at struggling Elche in La Liga.
