Inter could receive an eyewatering bid from the Premier League for Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Calciomercato.com said Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich had put Lukaku second on the club’s transfer wish list, behind Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland.

Chelsea are not short of liquidity like most clubs at present and are ready to make serious steps towards Lukaku, preparing an offer which could exceed €100 million.

Inter are expected to ‘strongly reject’ any advances for their star striker though, with Lukaku set to remain their talisman for many years to come.

Lukaku is looking more of a leader under Antonio Conte than he has ever seemed before in his career, the report argued.

Inter need the 27-year-old in order to become more competitive in Europe and consider him to be untouchable.

Manchester City could rival Chelsea in any bid to sign Lukaku – having already tried to secure him last summer – with Pep Guardiola’s side seeking a replacement for the departing Sergio Aguero.

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman also wants a reunion with Lukaku after coaching him at Everton, but the La Liga giants do not have the financial resources necessary to make an offer.
