Inter’s Matias Vecino & Alexis Sanchez Could Start Against Cagliari, Italian Media Report

Matias Vecino could make his first start of the season when Inter host Cagliari on Sunday, according to a report in the Italian media.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition revealed the Uruguayan was favourite ahead of Roberto Gagliardini to replace the suspended Nicolo Barella in the Nerazzurri’s midfield.

Alexis Sanchez could also be in line for a start after his promising recent form, with Lautaro Martinez in that case dropping to the bench.

Alessandro Bastoni and Marcelo Brozovic will both return to Inter’s starting XI after being suspended for Wednesday’s win against Sassuolo.

Antonio Conte will be without Ivan Perisic and Aleksandar Kolarov again for the fixture with Cagliari, both of whom have been out of action since the return from the international break.

Ashley Young is expected to keep his place at left wing-back, meaning Matteo Darmian is back on the bench.
