Roberto Gagliardini has thanked his Inter teammates for the perfect birthday present after their 2-1 win against Sassuolo.

The midfielder turned 27 on Wednesday and marked the occasion by starting the Nerazzurri’s game in hand at San Siro, being replaced by Matias Vecino with 20 minutes left.

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez scored a goal in either half to take Antonio Conte’s side 11 points clear at the top of Serie A.

Gagliardini took to Instagram on Thursday and wrote: “Another win is the best way to celebrate a birthday!
