Antonio Conte deserves enormous credit for everything he has done at Inter this season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Conte was keen to land a blow on his critics yesterday after Inter secured an 11th straight Serie A win at home to Cagliari.

Inter were criticised for giving up possession against Sassuolo last Wednesday but the Nerazzurri’s style of play is clearly working like a charm, with Conte’s side now 11 points clear at the top of the table.

However, Conte also deserves praise for the way he kept Inter united in the first part of 2021 as the club was going through a period of huge off-field uncertainty.

The Milan-based paper said Conte had revitalised players who seemed like they were no longer part of his plans, another key merit of his.

Inter have recovered 33 points on Juventus since the end of the 2018-19 season (when Conte was appointed as head coach) and now need just 13 points from their final eight games to secure the Scudetto.

They are the first team ever in Serie A to begin the second half of the season with 11 straight wins.
