Antonio Conte is doing everything to keep Inter’s second-string players onside in their Serie A title bid, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.
Sky Sport Italia said Conte was always at pains to praise those who played less for the Nerazzurri, believing they are just as important as Inter’s first-choice options.
Inter’s head coach never speaks about individuals, but when he does he focuses on players like Alexis Sanchez and Andrea Ranocchia to praise their attitude in training.
Conte wants to be able to count upon everyone during the final eight games of the season, where Inter will be chasing the club’s first league title in 11 years.
Matteo Darmian and Danilo D’Ambrosio are another two players who have played a key role in the Scudetto charge, Sky continued, with five goals scored between them this season.
Darmian has turned out to be an excellent signing from Parma, capable of giving Inter back-up on both wings, while D’Ambrosio is ready to do his bit during the run-in after overcoming a knee injury and COVID-19.
Sanchez has also provided an important contribution for Inter (five goals and six assists in Serie A this season), despite Conte not being able to start the former Manchester United forward as much as he would deserve.
Elsewhere, Stefano Sensi and Matias Vecino are getting back to full fitness after their own injury concerns and could become crucial alternatives for Inter in midfield.
Ranocchia is said to have kept ‘an exemplary attitude’ throughout this season, even when he went four or five months without playing, and ensured Inter did not miss Stefan de Vrij when the Dutch defender missed the recent trip to Bologna.
Conte has made sure Inter’s group has a very healthy spirit and it looks set to pay off at the end of the season.
