Inter have cast their eyes on two youngsters ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition revealed the Nerazzurri had made their move for Romania under-21 international Olimpiu Morutan, who is impressing at FCSB.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have beaten off competition from Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen, although no deal is in place for Mortuan to join Inter yet.

Talks are said to be on standby after FCSB set a €20 million price tag for the 21-year-old, who has scored six goals and provided 12 assists this season.

Inter are also showing an interest in Velez Sarsfield’s promising attacking midfielder Thiago Almada, who turns 20 later this month.

The Nerazzurri pulled clear of their competition last year, before having to halt their interest due to Suning’s financial difficulties, and they remain interested in a deal now.

Almada has made seven appearances for Argentina’s under-20 side, scoring once.
