Genoa striker Gianluca Scamacca has admitted that he would like to be able to have the speed of Inter star Romelu Lukaku, as he assessed the top forwards in Europe.
The former Roma primavera forward is on loan at Genoa from Sassuolo and has attracted attention after netting five goals in 21 Serie A games for the Grifone, as well as four in three Coppa Italia matches.
In an interview with today’s magazine edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Sportweek, Scamacca considered ways in which he could improve as a player and picked key characteristics from a host of top strikers, including Inter’s top scorer Lukaku.
“I would like the bravado of [AC Milan’s Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, the speed of Lukaku, and the consistency of [Juventus’ Cristiano] Ronaldo,” the 22-year-old declared.
He then went on to pick some of the best attributes of strikers in other leagues in Europe, with a focus on the Bundesliga.
“I want [Borussia Dortmund’s Erling] Haaland’s mentality, [Bayern Munich’s Robert] Lewandowski’s cynicism and the anger of [Atletico Madrid’s Luis] Suarez.”
Scamacca joined Sassuolo from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in 2017 but has only made three senior appearances for the Neroverdi and spent last season on loan at Ascoli.
