Italian football agent Diego Nappi is expected a tough encounter between Inter and Napoli in Serie A this evening, and insists the Nerazzurri will not be complacent in the title run-in.
Antonio Conte’s side require maximum of 13 points to secure the Scudetto after opening up a lead at the top of the table, and look to extend their 11-match winning streak at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona today.
In an interview with L’Interista.it, FIFA agent Nappi felt that Napoli’s Champions League qualification ambitions would ensure a difficult encounter for Inter, and stressed that Conte would not allow for complacency.
“It will be a match between two strong teams. Napoli cannot make mistakes because they are chasing the Champions League goal,” Nappi claimed.
“The Scudetto almost seems certain, but knowing the Inter coach he will not give up until the end. [Napoli coach Gennaro] Gattuso also has the same mentality, with aggression and determination. I think the many important players on the pitch will make the difference.”
Nappi addressed the transfer market in relation to the two teams and felt that Inter’s wide margin at the top showed they needed little work.
“When a team wins the Scudetto with such a considerable lead, it is difficult to change. As far as Napoli are concerned, it will be necessary to see if they qualify for the Champions League or not before deciding on their strategy,” he added.
Napoli have won four of their last five matches in Serie A as they challenge for a position in the top four, whilst Inter can move closer to the league title with victory.
