Whilst they are set to face off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this evening, Inter and Napoli remain allies behind the scenes on a number of issues.
Antonio Conte’s side travel to Naples to take on the Partenopei in Serie A this evening as they look to secure another victory en route to the Scudetto, whilst the hosts seek a win to bolster their Champions League hopes.
However, the two clubs have a strong relationship away from the field of play, as reported in today’s newspaper edition of Il Mattino.
Inter and Napoli both voted in favour of electing Paolo Dal Pino and Gabriele Gravina as Presidents of the Lega Serie A and the FIGC respectively, and have both turned against the pair recently.
Similarly, the two clubs have led calls for a restructuring of Serie A, with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis particularly vocal in calls to revert the league back to 18 teams, and receiving support from Inter.
