Antonio Conte has turned one of Inter’s greatest potential weaknesses into a strength for their Serie A title charge, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Conte is coaching a squad at Inter which is full of players who have either won precious little or nothing at all during their careers so far.
Some have suggested Inter’s players could pay for their inexperience during the Serie A title run-in, but there is no sign of that happening at the moment.
Conte has used his players’ lack of experience at a certain level as a motivational tool to keep the team hungry, the Milan-based paper argued, which is an excellent feat of man-management.
Romelu Lukaku has only won one major trophy back when he was a teenager at Anderlecht, the report explained, while the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella and Samir Handanovic have never lifted a trophy.
Achraf Hakimi is also set for the first major trophy of his career, with GdS arguing that Conte had turned the Moroccan into a complete player through hard work on the training ground.
Inter are nine points clear at the top of Serie A with seven games left.
