Inter received a good luck message from one of their treble heroes last night as they continue to hunt down the Serie A title.
The Nerazzurri were held to a 1-1 draw at Spezia but nonetheless took another step towards winning the Scudetto, following AC Milan’s defeat at home to Sassuolo.
Antonio Conte’s side need a maximum of nine points from their final six games to secure the club’s first league title since 2010.
Goran Pandev, who now plays for Genoa, was part of that historic Inter team and told Sky Sport Italia: “I’m certainly still following Inter.
“I’d like to congratulate the coach (Conte) and I hope this is the right year for Inter to win the Scudetto.”
Pandev was assured by one of Sky’s studio guests at that point that Inter had ‘already won’ the title, but the North Macedonian preferred to remain cautious for now.
He replied: “Let’s hope so…”
Ivan Perisic secured the point for Inter last night after an early goal from Diego Farias had put Spezia in front.
Conte’s side will return to Serie A action on Sunday when they welcome out-of-form Hellas Verona to San Siro.
