Inter will once again be unable to spend in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition warned that the Nerazzurri would be in exactly the same situation as they had in January and last summer, following the collapse of the European Super League project.

Antonio Conte wants Inter to sign Emerson Palmieri and Rodrigo de Paul to reinforce the left wing-back spot and midfield, along with a back-up striker for Romelu Lukaku.

Instead, Inter might be forced to sacrifice one or two key players to balance the books, with Lautaro Martinez thought to be the one attracting most interest.

The Turin-based paper warned Suning that they would need to take public responsibility if Inter were restricted to yet more transfer austerity, in order to give Conte and the fans the ‘clarity’ they need.

Suning are currently in talks with three US groups – Bain Capital, King Street and Fortress – over a €250 million loan to help ease Inter’s current financial woes.

It could be difficult to pull off a deal with any of those parties, the report explained, because Inter’s high debt means the creditors will need strong guarantees within any agreement.

Inter already have some of their shares pledged in China while their income is pretty much at a standstill, not least because they have yet to secure a replacement for Pirelli as their main shirt sponsor (Samsung remain in contention).
