Inter centre-back Stefan De Vrij is prepared for a tough encounter against Hellas Verona in Serie A, but remains confident that his team can secure victory.

The Nerazzurri welcome Verona to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this afternoon looking to earn a first win in three games and move a step closer to the Scudetto, with just nine more points required to be crowned champions.

In an interview with InterTV ahead of kick-off, the Netherlands international warned that the Gialloblu’s style of play would present a challenge.

“Verona are a very physical team, they play man to man so it will be an intense battle, but we are ready,” De Vrij claimed.

Ivan Juric’s side come into the match in poor form, having lost their last three league games, but De Vrij was confident that Inter would avoid complacency.

“We try to win every match. We haven’t won in the last two games but I think the approach has always been right. We have one target and that is to win today and move forward. We are confident we can do it,” the former Lazio defender added.

Inter have seen a high proportion of their goals come in the second half and De Vrij felt that their physical preparation meant the Nerazzurri were able to continue pushing forward later in matches.

“I think because we are all physically well prepared, we train a lot with intensity. We have a large squad and even those who come in and play less help to change the game when needed,” he concluded.
