Inter have almost no chance of making big-money signings in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said it was ‘extremely unlikely’ the Nerazzurri would have the money to chase high-profile reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window.

It is also not guaranteed that Inter will be able to keep hold of all their star players, with the club known to be battling financial difficulties.

Despite this, Antonio Conte will remain as head coach and is expected to hold talks with Inter president Steven Zhang after they have secured the Serie A title.

Zhang finally returned to Milan on Wednesday after a six-month absence and is already hard at work, in a bid to clarify Suning’s long-term plans for Inter.

Inter’s directors are also expected to stay along with Conte, despite all of them being out of contract in the summer of 2022.

Elsewhere, Zhang is continuing to work on a €270 million loan deal from Bain Capital, but there is an alternative option that would see Oaktree Capital invest €150 million to become Inter’s new minority shareholder.

He is also due to address the issues regarding Inter’s new main shirt sponsor and the club’s hopes of building a new stadium with AC Milan.
