Former Inter midfielder Nicola Berti has revealed that such as his confidence in the Nerazzurri being crowned champions, he began his celebrations last night.

A 2-0 victory over Crotone yesterday all-but sealed the Scudetto, but Inter were officially confirmed as Serie A champions today after Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo.

However, in an interview with InterTV earlier today, the former midfielder insisted that he had never doubted the Nerazzurri would secure their first league title since 2010 and began the festivities immediately.

“Everyone go to Milan! Don’t make a mess or do too much though. I celebrated last night, I was already sure. Come on Inter, I will see you soon!” Berti declared.

The 54-year-old joined Inter from Fiorentina in 1988 and spent 10 years at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, scoring 29 goals in 229 appearances before moving to Tottenham Hotspur.

Berti enjoyed great success with the Nerazzurri, winning the Scudetto in 1988 and lifting the UEFA Cup twice, in 1991 and 1994. An Italian international, he represented the Azzurri at both the 1990 and 1994 World Cups, earning a runners-up medal at the latter.
