Antonio Conte has pulled off the best achievement of his career by winning the Serie A title at Inter, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Inter were confirmed as champions on Sunday for the first time since 2010, after the Nerazzurri beat Crotone 2-0 and Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw away at Sassuolo.

Tuttosport’s print edition awarded Conte a rating of 10/10 for a feat they believed surpassed his other four league titles with Juventus and Chelsea.

“It’s probably the best of the lot,” the Turin-based paper argued.

“Not only did he take Inter back to winning the league after 11 years, Conte has proven he is capable of winning in Italy without being at Juventus.

“Inter’s premature exit from the UEFA Champions League remains an open wound, but he didn’t make a single mistake in Serie A and reaped what he sewed last season.”

Romelu Lukaku was the only other person to receive 10/10 for his season, with the Belgian hailed as ‘a world-class champion’ after his 21-goal campaign in Serie A.

Lautaro Martinez, Achraf Hakimi and Nicolo Barella were all awarded 9.5, meanwhile, with Hakimi lauded for his ‘unstoppable’ performances on Inter’s right wing.

Stefan de Vrij was ‘insuperable’ in defence while Christian Eriksen was rewarded for ‘having gone from a humiliated star to an irreplaceable starter’ in midfield.

Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni took 9/10 with De Vrij and Eriksen, as did Marcelo Brozovic, while Ivan Perisic and Samir Handanovic rated slightly lower.

Tuttosport’s season ratings (starting XI): Handanovic 8; Skriniar 9, De Vrij 9, Bastoni 9; Hakimi 9.5, Barella 9.5, Brozovic 9, Eriksen 9, Perisic 8.5; Lukaku 10, Lautaro 9.5; Conte 10.

Tuttosport’s season ratings (others): Danilo D’Ambrosio 8.5, Matteo Darmian 8.5, Arturo Vidal 8, Alexis Sanchez 7.5, Roberto Gagliardini 7, Andrea Ranocchia 7, Stefano Sensi 6.5, Aleksandar Kolarov 6, Andrea Pinamonti 6, Matias Vecino 6, Radja Nainggolan N/A, Andrei Radu N/A, Daniele Padelli N/A.
