Antonio Conte will meet Inter president Steven Zhang for his long-awaited summit next week, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Corriere della Sera’s print edition said it was fairly easy to work out what Zhang would tell Conte in terms of the club’s plans, with Inter braced for ‘a difficult summer’ focused on austerity.

Inter must reduce their working costs ahead of next season and need to make a profit in the transfer window, which will involve trimming their squad and reducing the club’s wage bill.

Zhang could well ask Conte, as well as Inter’s directors and players, to give up various bonuses in their contracts to help ease the club’s financial troubles.

Inter may also ask their players to spread their annual salaries over more years, in order to cut costs and make the club more sustainable.

Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij are at risk of being sold, according to a separate report today, while Christian Eriksen is also said to be a possible departure.
