Inter’s players have ‘clarified’ their issues with Suning regarding potential pay cuts, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Libero’s print edition, the problem is now resolved and both parties are open to reaching an agreement which benefits everyone.

Steven Zhang asked Inter’s players to give up two months’ wages to help Suning ease the club’s economic problems, but the squad was widely reported to be against the idea.

This report from Libero comes contrary to a story from La Repubblica tonight, which said Inter’s players had rejected the wage cut proposal and that alternative agreements were also off the table for the moment.

Inter eased a few nerves among supporters last night by securing a 3-1 win at home to Roma, undermining reports which had suggested there was unrest in the camp.

The result would have been meaningless had it not been for the context of the off-field turmoil, Libero’s report explained, but in fact that was why Inter’s comfortable win came as a surprise.

The Nerazzurri’s next match will see them face Juventus in the Derby d’Italia, a game which will go a huge way to determining the Bianconeri’s chances of UEFA Champions League qualification.
