Inter centre-back Stefan De Vrij insists that the team are looking to complete the season with maximum points, ahead of the clash against Juventus in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri travel to the Allianz Stadium today to take on last season’s champions Juventus, before rounding off a campaign in which they have been crowned Scudetto winners by facing Udinese at home next weekend.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of kick-off in Turin, the Netherlands international claimed that he was prepared for a difficult encounter, with both teams eager to win the final Derby d’Italia of the season.

“It is a very important match for both clubs. Both teams always want to win the Derby d’Italia,” De Vrij stated.

“This will be a Juve team that will give their best and perhaps has a bit of anger and a lot of motivation. We must therefore be ready because it will be an important challenge.”

Much of Inter’s success this season has come down to a resolute defensive unit that has only conceded 31 goals in 36 matches, and De Vrij felt this was an important factor.

“I think that in recent years we have improved this aspect, we never want to concede a goal. We want to show as a team why we are champions of Italy.”

Inter beat Juventus in the corresponding fixture at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in January, with Arturo Vidal and Nicolo Barella providing the goals in a 2-0 victory.
