Antonio Conte ‘has every intention’ of staying at Inter beyond the summer, according to a leading Italian broadcaster today.

Sport Mediaset (via FcInter1908.it) said Conte wanted to continue the ‘ambitious project’ which began with his appointment as head coach in 2019.

Steven Zhang will aim to keep Conte on board by promising to keep all of Inter’s star players, but that is not the only offer he will make.

Suning are also considering the idea of offering Conte a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2022.

Conte would have the chance to keep improving Inter if he signed a new deal, the report added, with the view of stabilising the Nerazzurri as one of Europe’s elite clubs again.

Inter won their 19th Serie A title this season and chief executive Beppe Marotta has already publicly stated his ambition of securing a second star (by winning a 20th Scudetto) next year.

Before any of all that, Conte must meet Zhang to discuss his future and that will not happen until after Suning have secured their financing deal from Oaktree Capital Management (with talks at an advanced stage).
