Inter are hoping they can find buyers for their two Chilean stars in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, the Nerazzurri have no option but to reduce their wage bill as they seek to cut costs to ease their financial problems.

Club president Steven Zhang asked players to take wage cuts last week, but that request was rejected and now Suning must find alternative measures.

Inter will therefore need to offload some of their highest earners, among which are Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez.

Both players are considered expendable, the Rome-based paper explained, because they are on hefty salaries but were not key players in Inter’s Serie A title triumph.

Vidal and Sanchez will be difficult to shift though, not least because they are 34 and 32 respectively.

Inter signed both players effectively for free and the Nerazzurri would be prepared to offload them for little or nothing, but it remains to be seen who would be prepared to take on their wages.

It also remains unclear what plans Vidal and Sanchez have for their own futures, which could scupper the club’s hopes of moving them on.

Inter are also looking to offload Christian Eriksen and Ivan Perisic in their bid to reduce the club’s wage bill, as explained here.
