Inter’s owners Suning are confident they can persuade Antonio Conte to stay, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInterNews.it) said there was confidence around the club that Conte would remain head coach, especially after Inter agreed a €275 million financing deal with Oaktree Capital.

Conte is due to meet club president Steven Zhang to discuss his future, at which point Zhang must promise the financial problems encountered this season will not repeat themselves next year.

Zhang and Conte intend to hold their talks before Sunday’s Serie A finale against Udinese, although it is unlikely to happen today due to other institutional commitments.

Inter’s boss will meet Zhang shortly after the game at the weekend at the very latest, once the Nerazzurri have finished their Serie A title party at San Siro.

Suning have finally sorted Inter’s short-term financial concerns and now they must turn their attention to planning next season.
