Cagliari are determined to retain Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan following his loan spell at the club and will look to reach an agreement with the Nerazzurri.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, securing safety in Serie A has allowed Cagliari to begin focusing on the transfer market and signing Nainggolan on a permanent deal is a priority.
The former Belgium international struggled to force his way into Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte’s plans and Inter have no desire to retain him, whilst the player himself is keen to remain in Sardinia.
Cagliari hope to strike a deal with Inter by offering €3 million and promising young midfielder Riccardo Ladinetti, who has spent the season on loan at Serie C club Olbia.
The Isolani may also look to secure an agreement through reworking outstanding payments in the transfer that took Nicolo Barella to Inter last summer.
Nainggolan has enjoyed three separate spells at Cagliari throughout his career, with his latest move in January seeing him score once in 20 appearances.
