Inter will struggle to keep Antonio Conte at the club for next season, a report in the Italian media claimed today.

Corriere della Sera’s print edition said the parties were ‘nowhere close’ in terms of their visions for the Nerazzurri’s future, ahead of today’s meeting between Conte and Steven Zhang.

Inter will have to convince Conte to stay by offering him a ‘concrete’ project, but that will be anything but easy given Conte’s demands.

Beppe Marotta told reporters yesterday that he was optimistic Conte would remain head coach, but the report warned he couldn’t really have said anything else on the day Inter were celebrating the Scudetto.

Conte’s future will be decided today when he meets Zhang along with Inter’s directors, so everything will become clearer soon.

His assistant Cristian Stellini took over post-match duties yesterday after the 5-1 win against Udinese, telling reporters that Inter would need ‘a project of a high level’ to keep hold of Conte.
