Inter are still deliberating over Andrea Ranocchia and Danilo D’Ambrosio’s futures at the club, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Libero’s print edition, the Nerazzurri are looking to reduce their wage bill ahead of next season and the quickest way to do that is by releasing players who are out of contract.

Daniele Padelli (who is joining Udinese), Ashley Young (who could rejoin Watford) and Aleksandar Kolarov are certain to leave, but Inter could also sacrifice one between Ranocchia and D’Ambrosio.

D’Ambrosio is thought to be more likely to leave than Ranocchia, although nothing is decided yet.

Elsewhere, Inter will also look to offload Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal because they are both on huge salaries and are not crucial to Antonio Conte’s project.

The Nerazzurri would save €30 million before tax in salaries if they got rid of all the above players, after which they would replace them with younger players on lower wages.

Federico Dimarco is a prime example of that, with the 23-year-old set to be recalled from his loan spell at Hellas Verona.

Libero’s report confirmed that Conte had identified seven players who must not be sold: Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, Achraf Hakimi, Nicolo Barella, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
