The agent of wing-back Valentino Lazaro has suggested that his client could return to Inter next season after a season on loan at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Austria international Lazaro was sent to the Bundesliga this year after failing to establish himself under former coach Antonio Conte, who has since departed and is likely to be replaced by Simone Inzaghi.

In an interview with FCInter1908.it, agent Max Hagmayr claimed that the impending sale of Achraf Hakimi and the change in coach could allow for a previously unexpected space in Inter’s squad for his client.

“I don’t know about Lazaro’s future, we haven’t talked to Inter yet. The club has been busy in this period with other issues. With the departure of Hakimi and the arrival of the new coach, maybe he could find space,” Hagmayr stated.

“We still need to talk with Borussia. Now he is focused on the European Championship, he wants to have a great tournament, then we will understand the future,” he added.

Lazaro joined Inter from Hertha Berlin in 2017 but has only made 11 senior appearances for the Nerazzurri, spending last season on loan at Newcastle United before moving to Gladbach this term.

The Graz-native has scored twice in 24 appearances for the German club this season.
