Lautaro Martinez may once again be at the heart of a summer of transfer speculation at Inter, with Atletico Madrid manager and fellow Argentine Diego Simeone a key character this time.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport report that Simeone’s admiration of the 23-year-old Argentine striker could become a factor in determining his market value given the Atletico head coach’s admiration of his countryman.
In the past Martinez has been linked with sensational moves to big European clubs with FC Barcelona being the most concrete example; Tuttosport speculate that this summer a similarly large offer may be made by Atletico Madrid.
Tuttosport write that “while Real Madrid are always a possibility not to lose sight of for various reasons, it is Atletico who will send the main signals to try and woo the Argentine from Milan.”
Martinez has scored 49 goals in 132 games for Inter since joining in the summer of 2018.
