England’s star striker Harry Kane has talked about how desperate he is to see Christian Eriksen playing football again after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a Euro 2020 match, according to a broadcast report in the English media today.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Harry Kane showed how distressed he was at the news involving his former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Christian Eriksen. The two had a very good attacking understanding together whilst at Tottenham Hotspur.
“Yesterday it was difficult, almost impossible to look at what happened to Eriksen. I thought about him, his family, everything we have experienced together. I wish him the best, I can’t wait to take the field again with him.”
Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during his countries opening Euro 2020 game against Finland in Copenhagen. He was given immediate medical attention on the pitch, including CPR. He was then taken to the hospital for further examinations where UEFA and the Danish Football Association confirmed that was stable and talking.
The game was resumed and Finland went on to win the match 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal. It was Finland’s first-ever win at a major tournament.
