Well-known Italian agent Oscar Damiani has weighed in on the French midfielder’s situation at Inter, suggesting that if the player does not stay at Inter next season he will want his next move to be outside of Italy.

Damiani spoke to Italian radio program Radio Sportiva today, discussing what he sees as the unsatisfactory situation with respect to playing time for Agoume and players like him.

He explained that he and Agoume met with Inter alongside lawyer Domeninco Cecere and agent Djibril Niang.

He explained that in Italy, it can often be difficult for younger players to receive significant responsibilities in the senior teams in Serie A, where the average age of players is older and players at the beginning of their careers are not often given the first-team minutes required to develop their games and gain experience.

The Frenchman man eleven appearances on loan at Spezia last season where he showed that he is up to the level of Serie A football but was not normally a first-choice starter behind some of the club’s other midfield options

On Agoume, Damiani said this:

“Agoume is an excellent prospect, even if at Spezia his talent found little expression.”

“Unfortunately, even for the agent, this experience is not a positive one, and it means that no one is willing to let young players come to Italy.”

He continued: “Space in the team is rarely given to players who aren’t 24-25, but these days even young players aged twenty are fully trained. It is a limitation of [Serie A] because in France, Germany, and England very young men are significant players.”

Relating this issue to Agoume’s situation, Damiani stated that “In the future, we will see: he will go abroad or he will stay at Inter.”
