With the 2020-2021 season wrapped up, the Euros are currently the focus of the football world.
The much-anticipated Euro 2021 has been the center of much talk — so much talk that every country represented is using whatever outlet possible to hype the competition.

Many players who have gotten much success in their respective clubs have been dropped from their national teams. Of course, club success plays a huge role in national team selection, however, coaches need to consider other things, like age, experience, injuries, and the overall ability of the player.
This puts Roberto Mancini, Italy’s manager, in an awkward position just like many other managers, especially having to cut some players from the squad.
It puts a smile on our faces to see 3 Inter Milan boys get their opportunity to make their country proud just as they made the Inter Milan fans proud.
They definitely won’t be lacking in confidence seeing they just seized the SERIE A title from the hands of Juventus.
The players selected from Inter Milan are the 21-year-old defender Alessandro Bastoni, 25-year-old Stefano Sensi, and 24-year-old midfielder Nicolo Barella.
Bastoni has been one of the more outstanding young players of the season. He’s appeared 33 times in the Serie A for champions Inter Milan. Bastoni is no stranger to big games and also has a lot of experience for such a young player.
Although he might feel a bit nervous playing with much experienced defenders that have been selected for the national team like Bonucci and Chiellini.
It would be quite interesting to see how he fits into Mancini’s squad. Bastoni is a fantastic player who has nothing but a great future in front of him.
An exciting addition to the squad. Although it’s not his first time on the squad he’s been a consistent member of the team for some years now. Even though most of his season was affected by injury, Sensi seems to be very much healthy and in some form.
His style of play makes him an important man for Italy, either as a starter or coming off the bench. Sitting as a deep-lying playmaker, he is a very good distributor of the ball and has an amazing long passing ability.
He has received a lot of praise in the past from Mancini and has been compared to greats like Andrea Pirlo. He’s going to have to prove his class with his teammates as well as opponents — but if there’s anyone who’s up to the task, it’s Sensi.
Barella is one of the more unsurprising picks in the squad. Barella certainly made his mark in the Serie A this season with 36 caps including 3 goals and 9 assists.
He was even named midfielder of the season. Barella completely dominates the midfield whenever he’s on the pitch. Barella thrives under pressure and he could expect to play under a lot of pressure at the Euros.
Barella is no stranger to the Italian senior squad, he made his debut in 2018 under Mancini and scored his first goal in 2019.
He’s quite a versatile player, playing in many different roles and he’s also quite physical. What he lacks in stature he makes up for in his technical ability and knowledge of the game.
There’s no doubt Euro 2020 will be quite entertaining.
