Inter have published a tribute to former Juventus and Italy striker Giampiero Boniperti, who passed away yesterday.
The striker was part of the “Magical Trio” at Juventus in the 1960s, alongside John Charles and Omar Sivori.
Boniperti scored 179 goals in 459 appearances for the Bianconeri across his twenty-five years with the club.
Boniperti, and Italy plan to wear black armbands to commemorate him during their next group stage match against Wales taking place on Sunday in Rome.
The text of Inter’s post reads: “FC Internazionale would like to extend their deepest condolences to the Boniperti family upon the death of Giampiero, a great sportsman and noble adversary in a great many pages of football history with @juventusfcen”
