Francesco Guidolin has been discussing the performances of various Italian stars after the first two games of the European Championships, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-Verona and Venezia midfielder praised Inter’s Nicolo Barella for his impressive performances against Turkey and Switzerland on matchday one and two.
“Nicolo Barella has impressed me in the championship.”
The Inter midfielder has received wide praise and had his performances compared to those of French midfielder N’Golo Kante, who recently won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.
Another player that Francesco Guidolin was keen to praise was Giacomo Raspadori. The young Sassuolo striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Nerazzurri because the future of Lautaro Martinez is still not clear.
“I fell in love with Giacomo Raspadori, he seems to me a mix between Butragueno, Anastasi and Gerd Muller.
“Fantastic, with two feet very delicate. I’d like to see him at work.”
If Lautaro Martinez does find himself playing for Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in La Liga next season, Giacomo Raspadori is first on Beppe Marotta’s list of replacements.
