Inter president Steven Zhang is set to depart from Milan today, having concluded his business in the city.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that Zhang will make his expected return to China.

The Inter president had been expected to make an earlier return to China more than a week ago, but decided to extended his stay in Milan in order to attend to urgent matters with the Nerazzurri.

While in Italy, Zhang outlined the corporate strategy of the Nerazzurri, presiding over talks surrounding the club’s financial future in a hectic summer which saw the departure of former head coach Antonio Conte and is expected to see the departure of at least one key squad member.

Additionally, the club president met with the city’s mayor to reassure the municipality about the feasibility of plans for a new stadium.

It is thought that the last order of business for Zhang was the renewal of the contracts of various staff members at the club, and with that done he looks set to return to China.
