Cagliari are struggling to agree personal terms with Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan unless the Nerazzurri pay a portion of his wages.
This according to the print edition of Rome based Corriere dello Sport who report that while both clubs and the player wish to make the Belgian’s loan move from the second half of last season a permanent stay, the move is currently stuck on the question of compensation for the player.
The Rossoblu are not thought to be able to come to an agreement over the player’s compensation for the next season unless the transfer also includes Inter helping them out financially when paying Nainggolan.
The 33-year-old is not a part of new Inter manager Simone Inzaghi’s plans for next season, and the club are determined to get his wages off their books, which are a net of €3.6 million plays €500,000 in image rights for the remaining year of his contract.
The Nerazzurri are even willing to take a financial loss on the player’s departure by forgoing a fee, but at the time are not thought to be willing to grant an incentive.
Meanwhile, Cagliari are thought to be interested in Inter defender Federico Dimarco, with the possibility of a move for the 23-year-old Italian between the clubs one possibility to bring about an acceleration in the Nainggolan deal.
