Barcelona have emerged as a possible suitor for Atalanta’s German wing-back Robin Gosens in the summer.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport report that the Catalan giants are looking to sign the 26-year-old, valued at around €35 million, at the request of head coach Ronald Koeman.
It is thought that the Bergamo-based club’s preference this summer is to keep the player, an important piece in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad which finished third in Serie A last season.
However, La Dea would consider parting with him should the right offer come along, with several clubs interested in his signature.
The player’s profile is high at the moment after his impressive performances for Germany at the Euros, capped off with a goal against Portugal.
It is thought that for the time being Barcelona’s economic situation would make moving for Gosens difficult, especially with high-profile arrivals such as Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay already confirmed at the Camp Nou, but that they feel that they will be able to make an offer later in the window.
Gosens remains in Inter’s radar, as manager Simone Inzaghi searches for a left-sided player who can carry out the rigorous demands of his tactical system.
