Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevalli has weighed in on the situation of Inter target Giacomo Raspadori at the Mapei Stadium.

Speaking to the “Barba e Capelli” program on Italian broadcaster TRC, Carnevalli stated that Raspadori is a player who the club consider too important to part ways with.

The 21-year-old striker impressed last season with the Neroverdi, and his form has prompted transfer interest from numerous major European clubs, including the Nerazzurri.

Apart from this, the player has also been called up to Roberto Mancini’s Italy side for EURO 2020.

Despite some reports that the player could leave in the summer, the Sassuolo CEO is adamant that the player is not someone who the Neroverdi would consider selling.

Inter have considered Raspadori to be a possible replacement for Lautaro Martinez should the Argentine leave in the summer, or as a backup and understudy to the 23-year-old, and it is unclear how the Nerazzurri would approach the market in the forward position should Raspadori be ruled unavailable.

Carnevalli stated:

“As far as Raspadori is concerned, I can say that for us he is unsellable. We do not want to deprive ourselves of one of our most important young players.”
